Owned
and operated by Danny Brown, Whiskeyjack Paddles is located in the beautiful mountain town of Whitefish, Montana. We are very fortunate to be living and working
in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and the gateway to Glacier National Park. Its an amazing way of life
and I am enormously proud to offer our fine selection
of handcrafted, wooden kayak and canoe paddles.
I've
been an avid woodworker and avid paddler for many
years and several years ago decided to combine my
two passions (kinda like chocolate and peanut butter.)
I began making these paddles exclusively for friends
and family as gifts to commemorate special paddling
trips. I worked for many years as a graphic artist
and this artistry is reflected in the beauty
and elegance of our paddles.
Through
word of mouth, demand for our canoe paddles began to grow and eventually Whiskeyjack
Paddles was born.

On
a personal note, our family (my wife Barbara
and daughter Josephine) spend our summers at our cabin
on Hungry Jack Lake. Hungry Jack is located about
half way up the Gunflint Trail on the edge of the
Boundary Waters.
Our beloved cabin makes for a great base camp for
the many canoe trips we take each year. From our dock
we are able to paddle directly into the BWCA from
several different entry points. We also get up to
the cabin quite a bit in the winter to x-country ski
and snowshoe (our other passions.)
My
wife Barbara is also an artisan. She is a master printmaker
specializing in linoleum and wood cut prints If you
are in Duluth, her work can be found at Blue Lake Gallery
on Canal Park in downtown Duluth.
